The
precise identification of particular cable from a bunch is a common
problem faced by technicians and cable jointers in everyday practice. |
With
new cable identification instrument “CI -60” it is possible
to precisely identify not only multiple core cables but also single
core and co-ax cables. |
The
cable identification set “CI -60” consists of a mains
operated generator, identification tong and an indication instrument.
Saw toothed impulses from the generator are fed into the cable to
be identified. |
Depending
on the direction in which the tongs ”TR 100” is applied,
this impulse gives rise to a DC current impulse the direction of
which is indicated on the Pulse Receiver “PR-6”. |
In
the case of inductive or capacitive coupling of neighbouring cables,
or return currents via neighbouring sheaths, the receiver indicates
a different polarity accompanied by a perceptible reduction of the
indicated readings. |
The
impulse sequence is 2.5 sec. If required, a special code can be
switched on, which has the following characteristics, 2 impulses
in 2.5 secs. Intervals and thereafter 3 impulses in 1 sec. Intervals. |
In
addition to the perception of the periodicity, the indication values
are dissimilar because of the shorter time constants, thereby facilitating
the selection. |
